It has been announced that David Cameron is to bring in mandatory licensing of residential landlords to clamp down on illegal immigrants.
A trial that was conducted in the Midlands is to be rolled out throughout the country, meaning that landlords (and letting agents?) will have to inspect and confirm that all tenants that are looking to stay in their properties are in the UK legally.
